19 weeks and 5 days have passed since that day. Today I went back out on my bike for a proper ride. I awoke to a beautiful day, the sun was shining, there was a cool crispness to the air and I knew I had to go.
It started with a bit of an uncomfortable feeling in my hip joint as I spun the pedals, but it soon settled down. Just a local loop, familiar, non taxing trails. I say non taxing, but all the climbs taxed the hell out of me. Burning in my thighs, and even a head ache. A wheezing from my under used, shallow breathing lungs. Snot rockets. It was all coming out. It felt great. A comedy ‘foot stuck in pedals’ fall topped it off.
I’m glad to be back.
